Day 1: Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains
- Morning: Depart Addis Ababa for the Bale Mountains National Park, located in the southeast of Ethiopia.
- Afternoon: Arrive at the park headquarters. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon hike around the Dinsho area, where you can spot Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s Bushbuck, and Warthog.
- Birdwatching: Keep your eyes open for the Blue-Winged Goose, Spot-Breasted Lapwing, Abyssinian Long Claw, Wattled Ibis, Black-Headed Siskin, and Rouget’s Rail among many other species.

Overnight Camp in the park, enjoying the tranquility of this remote wilderness.
Day 2: Trek to Sodota

Morning: Begin your trek through the park, passing by the Dinsho area where you’ll continue to spot local wildlife, including Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck.

Wildlife Spotting: Look out for the elusive Ethiopian Wolves as you make your way toward Habera Waterfall—a perfect stop for a break.

Trekking Time: Expect a 6-7 hour hike.
Overnight Camp at Sodota, a scenic location in the park.
Day 3: Trek to Wasama

Morning: Continue your trek toward Wasama, passing through Mararo Valley, where you may spot Lammergeyer and Verraux’s Eagles nesting in the cliffs.

Wildlife Sightings: There is also a chance of spotting Ethiopian Wolves and other bird species.

Trekking Time: Expect a 5-6 hour trek.
Overnight Camp at Wasama.
Day 4: Trek to Gebre Gurracha

Morning: Begin your day by hiking Mt. Wasama (4200m), one of the highest peaks in the Bale Mountains, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Wildlife Viewing: Keep an eye out for falcons, raptors, and possibly the Ethiopian Wolf.

Afternoon: Continue into the Worgona Valley, ending the day at Gebre Gurracha Lake, also known as Black Lake.

Trekking Time: Expect a 6-7 hour trek.

Overnight aCamp by Gebre Gurracha Lake.
Day 5: Sanetti Plateau – Addis Ababa

Morning: Take a short trek from Gebre Gurracha up to the Sanetti Plateau, the highest point of the park. Here, you’ll meet your vehicles for the journey back to Addis Ababa.

Return: Depart for Addis Ababa, concluding your unforgettable adventure in the Bale Mountains.
