Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa & City Sightseeing

Arrive at Bole International Airport, where our representative will meet you with a welcome sign and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Fly to Gondar – Drive to Sankaber (Simien Mountains National Park)
- Morning flight to Gondar, Ethiopia’s former royal capital
- Brief city tour of Gondar (depending on flight time)
- Drive 100 km to Debark, the gateway to Simien Mountains National Park. Collect entrance permits, guide, and scout
- Continue 31 km to Sankaber, your first campsite at 3,200 meters
- On the way, enjoy views of the rugged highlands and spot Gelada Baboons and the majestic Lammergeyer (bearded vulture)

Day 3: Trek from Sankaber to Geech Camp (3,600 m)

Trek begins! Mules and handlers carry supplies

Hike through stunning landscapes with deep gorges and endemic vegetation

Stop at Jinbar Waterfall, one of the tallest in Ethiopia

Cross Jinbar River, ascend to Geech Camp, a plateau with expansive views and Giant Lobelias

Wildlife sightings include Gelada Baboons and endemic birds

Trek Time: 5–6 hours

Overnight Camping at Geech Camp.
Day 4: Trek from Geech to Chenek (3,600 m)

Trek through Giant Lobelia forests and open plateaus

Walk along the spectacular Imet Gogo and Inatye escarpments (optionally included for enhanced views)

Enjoy scenic picnic lunch on the trail

Arrive at Chenek, a known hotspot for Walia Ibex and more Gelada troops

Trek Time: 7–8 hours
Overnight Camping at Chenek.
Day 5: Trek from Chenek to Ambiko Camp (3,200 m)

Early ascent to Bwahit Pass (4,200 m) for panoramic views

Continue through Chiro Leba and remote highland villages

Begin descent to Ambiko, base camp for Ras Dejen summit attempt
-
Spot Walia Ibex, Birds of Prey, and possibly Ethiopian Wolves

Trek Time: 6–8 hours
Overnight Camping at Ambiko.
Day 6: Summit Ras Dejen (4,550 m) – Return to Ambiko

Early morning trek to Ras Dejen, Ethiopia’s highest peak

Celebrate at the summit before descending to Ambiko

Trek Time: 6–7 hours
Overnight: Camping at Ambiko.
Day 7: Trek from Ambiko to Chenek Camp (3,600 m)

Retrace your steps through highland villages and landscapes

Day 8: Drive Chenek to Gondar
